When it comes to sales outreach, there is no one magical way to do things. What works for one industry, or offering may not work for another. This is true for the content marketing industry as well.
At LeadJoint, we have worked with hundreds of clients from across different countries and industries to help them generate qualified leads for their businesses through email outreach.
Since you are here to check out email templates for content marketing outreach, let me tell you this from experience – there is no perfect template that will work for all prospects. Their industry, designation, culture, language proficiency, and tech-savviness all play a part in deciding the best sales email template.
When we do sales outreach at scale for our clients, we start off with dozens of different sales email templates, and then slowly narrow it down to one or two based on what gets us the best results.
In this blog post, we will go through several different formats of emails that you could experiment with while seeking leads for your content marketing business.
Template 1: Formal Tone And Straight To the Point
Subject: Meeting request: Content marketing support for your B2B growth
Dear {{First Name}},
I’m Anand Srinivasan, founder of a B2B content marketing agency that helps companies generate qualified leads through consistent, high-quality content.
We work with B2B teams to turn content into a predictable pipeline rather than just brand activity.
I’d like to schedule a brief 15–20 minute call to understand your current content efforts and explore whether we can add value.
Please let me know a suitable time.
Best regards,
Anand Srinivasan

Template 2: Casual Tone
Subject: Quick chat about your B2B content strategy?
Hi {{First Name}},
I’m Anand. I run a content marketing agency focused purely on B2B companies.
If content is something you’re investing in (or planning to), I’d love to share how we help teams turn it into actual leads and not just posts.
Open to a quick 15-minute conversation sometime this week?
Thanks,
Anand
Template 3: For a tech-savvy recipient (offering a Calendly link)
Subject: Quick intro + Calendly link
Hi {{First Name}},
I’m Anand Srinivasan. My team helps B2B companies drive inbound leads through data-backed content marketing.
If this sounds relevant, you can grab time directly on my calendar here: {{Calendly Link}}
Alternatively, happy to work around a time that suits you.
Looking forward to connecting.
Anand
Template 4: Using Stats In the Opening line of the email (creates good engagement)
Subject: B2B companies generating 67% more leads with content
Hi {{First Name}},
B2B companies that publish consistent content generate **67% more leads** than those that don’t.
That’s exactly what we help with—turning content into a measurable growth channel for B2B businesses.
Would you be open to a short call to see if this could work for your team?
Regards,
Anand Srinivasan

Template 5: Reaching a gatekeeper – Formal tone
Subject: Request for brief discussion – Content marketing services
Dear {{Name}},
I’m reaching out to request a brief conversation with the person responsible for marketing or growth initiatives.
Our agency works with B2B organizations to improve lead generation through structured content marketing.
Could you please advise on the appropriate person to speak with, or help schedule a short introductory call?
Thank you for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Anand Srinivasan
Template 6: Reaching a gatekeeper – Casual tone
Subject: Who’s best to speak to about marketing?
Hi {{Name}},
Hope you’re doing well.
Quick question—who would be the right person to speak with about content marketing or lead generation?
I run a B2B-focused content agency and would love to have a short intro call with the relevant person.
Appreciate your help!
Anand

Template 7: Opening with an industry-related joke or riddle
Subject: Quick riddle for you (and a meeting request)
Hi {{First Name}},
Quick riddle:
What do most B2B blogs have in common?
👉 Great content, but no leads.
That’s the gap we help fix.
If improving ROI from content is on your radar, I’d love to set up a short call.
Best,
Anand Srinivasan
Template 8: Formal tone in under 100 words
Subject: Brief introduction and meeting request

Template 10: LinkedIn Inmail with connection request
Subject: Connecting re: B2B content growth
Hi {{First Name}},
Came across your profile and thought it made sense to connect.
I work with B2B companies on content strategies that actually generate leads—not just visibility.
Would be great to connect here, and if relevant, schedule a short call to exchange insights.
Best,
Anand Srinivasan
Content Marketing Sales Email Follow-Up Templates
Typically, we send between 3-4 follow-up emails to each recipient. While I can’t say with certainty how many follow-ups are ideal in the case of content marketing sales emails, the number of follow-ups generally increases where recipients are ‘out in the field’ or not tech-savvy since in these cases, there is a high chance that they missed out our initial outreaches.
In my experience, such prospects also tend to be more forgiving on persistent follow-ups, and the chances of being marked as spam are lower. So, you can crank up the number of follow-ups.
In each of the follow-up emails, it is important to reiterate two things:
- What do you offer (content marketing in your case)
- Call-to-action (booking a meeting, for instance)
Here is one variant of the follow-up email that you can use. Please note that it is recommended that you experiment with different variants of follow-ups in order to find what works best.
Subject: Following up on my earlier note
Hi {{First Name}},
Just following up on my earlier email.
We help B2B companies build content systems that consistently attract and convert the right prospects.
If this is worth exploring, I’d be happy to schedule a short call at your convenience.
Thanks,
Anand

I personally like to receive short emails. So, we also try to experiment with short follow-up emails that are under 150 words. Something like this:
Subject: Quick follow-up
Hi {{First Name}},
Circling back on my previous message.
We specialize in B2B content marketing that drives measurable leads and pipeline impact.
Would you be open to a brief 15-minute call to see if there’s a fit?
Regards,
Anand
Content Marketing Sales Breakup Email
The last email in the follow-up series is called the breakup email where you explicitly tell them that you won’t be reaching them any further. It is important that you mention this since a lot of prospects are busy or not desperate. So, they don’t bother replying till you tell them that they won’t be hearing from you again.
Here is one variant of the breakup email that we use for our content marketing agency clients.
Subject: Final follow-up from my side
Hi {{First Name}},
This will be my last follow-up.
I reached out to explore whether our B2B content marketing services could support your growth goals. If this isn’t relevant right now, no worries at all.
If you’re open to a short call, I’d be glad to connect. Otherwise, a quick “not interested” reply would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Anand Srinivasan
And here is an obligatory shorter version of the same breakup email:
Subject: Closing the loop
Hi {{First Name}},
I’ll close the loop after this message.
If improving lead generation through content is a priority, I’d love to schedule a quick call. If not, a brief reply letting me know either way would be appreciated.
Thanks for considering,
Anand Srinivasan
